Remove/install

Open trunk lid

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key (A8/1) or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)

 KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) only with code (889) KEYLESS-GO.

Remove trunk floor paneling (5)

Remove spare tire well panel

Unscrew nuts (4)

Positioning trunk lid to assembly position

 Do not open trunk lid completely. Actuate vario roof (S84s1) only until the rear side windows are lowered approx. half way.
Do not install support.

Remove cover (1) from striker

 Mounting wedge

Remove rear center section paneling (2)

 Unclip clips (3) from rear center section.

 Installation: Ensure that rear center section paneling (2) is seated correctly below seal on rear center section.

Disconnect electrical connector from trunk socket (X58/4)

Disconnect electrical connector from charger feed power outlet (X58/23)

Vehicles with CODE 675 (preinstallation for battery charger)

Remove rear center section paneling (2)

Open trunk lid

Remove trunk socket (X58/4)

When replacing rear center section paneling (2).

Release charger feed socket (X58/23) and remove

Vehicles with CODE 675 (preinstallation for battery charger)
When replacing rear center section paneling (2).

Install in the reverse order
