 Check sealing ring, replace if necessary.

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove screw/bolts (12) and take off underride guard (4)

Loosen clamp (11)

7

Slacken clamp (7) and hose (10) off connection of fuel tank (1)

 The clamp (7) must be replaced.

Close off freely created fitting on fuel tank (1) and hose (10)

 Record plug

Slacken clamp (13) and detach hose (8) off fitting of the fuel tank (1)

 The clamp (13) must be replaced.

Close off freely created fitting on fuel tank (1) and hose (8)

 Record plug

Slacken clamp (3) and detach hose (2) off fitting of the fuel tank (1)

 The clamp (3) must be replaced.

Close off freely created fitting on fuel tank (1) and hose (2)

Remove screw/bolt (5) and remove bracket (6)

Lift floor covering in the cargo area until the cover on the maintenance access (26) is accessible

Remove screws/bolts (25) and remove cover of maintenance access (26)

16

Slacken clamp (22) and detach hose (23) off fitting of the fuel tank (1)

 The clamp (22) must be replaced.

Close off freely created fitting on fuel tank (1) and hose (23)

 Record plug

Disconnect electrical connection (21) from fuel pump (20)

19

Unlock the quick-release couplings (18, 19, 24) and remove from the fuel pump (20)

20

Collect fuel which runs out in a suitable container

Close off freely created fitting on fuel pump (20) and quick-release couplings (18, 19, 24)

 Record plug

Remove screw/bolts (16) and remove the underride guard bracket (14)

23

Unscrew nuts (17) and remove tensioning strap (15)

 Helper required.

Remove fuel tank (1) downwards

 Installation: Ensure correct seating of the hose connection (9).

Collect fuel which runs out in a suitable container

26

Install in the reverse order

27

Connect diagnostic system; read out fault memory


