Disassemble

Remove the longitudinal differential

Remove the ball bearing (14) of the planet gear (11)

Remove the bolts (15) and separate the semi-housing (13) from the assembly

 Previously attach the longitudinal differential own cover of the assembly or through the coupling flange in a proper support

Remove the planet gear (11) with the compensation washer (12)

Remove the busing (10) of the planet gear (11)

 Put a disk of soft material on the gear teeth

Unlock and release the slotted nut (9)

 Spanner wrench

Remove the semi-housing (5) and disassemble from it the crosshead (8), the satellite gears (7) and the washers (6)

Remove the helical gear (3) and the compensation washer (2) from the front shaft (1)

Remove the busing (4) of the helical gear (3)

 Place the helical gear on two wooden shims to make the removal easier

Release the bolts and separate the planet hub and the helical gear (3)

 Fix the helical gear in a vise with soft jaws



Assemble

Assemble the planet hub in the helical gear (3)

 Fix the helical gear in a vise with soft jaws



Assemble the bushing (4) in the helical gear (3)

 Let the busing aligned with the planet hub top

Assemble a compensation washer (2) of 4 mm of thickness on the front shaft (1)

Install the helical gear (3) on the compensation washer (2) in the primary shaft

Assemble the satellite gears (7) and the washers (6) in the crosshead (8) and install the assembly in the semi-housing (5)

Install the semi-housing (5) on the helical gear (3)

17

Determine the play between the satellite and planet gears teeth

Install the slotted nut (9) and lock it

 Observe that the slotted nut locking does not eliminate the crosshead hub axial play



Assemble the bushing (10) in planet gear (11)

 Let the bushing aligned with the gear hub top

Install the planet gear (11) and a compensation washer (12) with a minimum thickness on the satellite gears

Assemble the semi-housing (13) and tighten the bolts (15)

 Observe the reference markings in the two semi-housings and place them correctly



Determine the planet gear axial play (11)

 Heat the bearing at 80 °C

Install the longitudinal differential in the cover
