When a driver airbag, front-passenger airbag, sidebag or windowbag or an emergency tensioning retractor is triggered, the coupling melts due to the heat development generated by the gas generator and therefore becomes non-reusable.
To date, repair on airbag wiring harnesses was not permitted due to safety reasons, but rather had to be partly or completely replaced depending on type.
In individual instance and for diagnostic purposes repair wiring harnesses must be ordered, to enable resistance measurements to be made to the airbag, sidebag windowbag or the emergency tensioning retractor.
The part numbers for the available repair wiring harnesses and squib are to be determined in the EPC.
It should be noted that the correct design group is used for each component.
