In this Service Information bulletin, we would like to inform you that since 12/2012 (model 166) and since 06/2013 (model 176, 242, 246) the glass breakage loops have no longer been integrated in the side windows and rear window.
Suitable interior protection parameter sets ensure that the interior monitoring function continues to operate correctly.
Only side windows and rear windows without glass breakage loops are now available from the Replacement Parts department.
On vehicles which were produced before the named production breakpoints, the following must be performed when the side windows or rear window are replaced:
1 | Install new side windows or rear window without glass breakage sensor | ||
2 | Tie back electrical line from glass breakage sensor | ||
3 | Perform SCN coding on ATA/tow-away protection/interior protection control unit (N26/6) | Xentry DAS version 03/2013 or later must be installed. |
