MODELS 124, 126, 129, 140, 163, 168, 170, 201, 202, 203, 208, 210, 215, 220, 460, 461, 463
With this Service Information System we would like to provide you with information on the efficient use of the Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS).
In addition to the diagnosis options "short test" and "control modules" the DAS provides further diagnosis assistance:
1) Inter-control module functions
The menu item "inter-control module functions" can be found in the menu selection "main groups".
In the event of complaints, which cannot clearly be assigned to a control module you receive basic assistance in localizing the fault cause by means of the "inter-control module functions". After selecting the complained of functionality (e.g.: turn signal indicator functions) only the control modules are displayed which are involved in this "inter-control module function".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Example of an inter-control module function:
- exterior lighting
- turn signal indicator functions
- OBF - Upper control panel
- SAM-VL - Driver-side signal acquisition and actuation module
- SAM-VR - Front right signal acquisition and actuation module
- SAM-FOND - Rear signal acquisition and actuation module
- MRM - Jacket tube module
- TSG-VL - Front left door control module
- TSG-VR - Front right door control module
Within these control modules only the actuations required for the functionality, actuations and codes are provided.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Tests conducted
The tests conducted contain the measuring and test procedure which significantly assist and make easier the localization of fault causes.
After entry into a control module and the selection of a fault code, the entrance into the tests carried out and the selection of a fault code takes place with the key F3.
In some cases this is possible within the tests carried out to call up the measurement technology with the preset measurements and good display directly.
If several tests carried out are offered these are to be worked through appropriately in the sequence from top to bottom.
This functionality also applies to actual values, actuations and symptoms. If key F3 is not displayed there are no tests carried out for these items.
3) Help
After entrance into a control module the key F6 permits access into the control module-specific help functionality.
Help contains:
Assignment of components
Circuit diagrams and location of connectors
Fuse and relay module
Function description
Help on complete vehicle
DAS test options/DAS test sequences
Description of fault code (OBD/EOBD)
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
In addition to this control module-specific help, the key F6 makes it possible to enter into help on the complete vehicle after selecting the model designation.
