This Service Information provides information on retrofitting a compressed-air connection outside the brake major assembly compartment.
This compressed-air connection is supplied with air from circuit 24 of the four-circuit protection valve.
Compressed-air controlled devices and tools, as well as tire inflating hoses, can be hooked to this connection.
This connection should not be used for air-powered tools that require lubrication.

3 | Pry retaining clamp from right-angle plug (2) and remove retaining bolt (1) | ||
4 | Remove spring element from connection hole (3) | ||
5 | Place retaining bolt (1), retaining clamp and spring element onto drift and screw into connection hole (3) | | |
6 | Remove drift and tighten retaining bolt (1) | | |

7 | Remove cable ties (4) and expose plastic line (5) | ||
8 | Cut off plastic line (5) square at the right-angle plug (2) | ||
9 | Hold plastic line (5) in clamp pliers and drive a new T-piece (6) into the plastic line (5) using a plastic mallet | | |
10 | Press T-piece (6) into connection hole (3) | Push the T-piece (6) in until the retaining clamp engages and the red | |
11 | Screw test connection (7) onto T-piece (6) and tighten | ||
12 | Secure plastic line (5) with new cable ties (4) | ||
13 | Fill compressed-air system and test for leaks |
