To ensure that a purposeful inspection is conducted on the starter in the event of a warranty and goodwill claim, as from 02/2013 onwards the following documents are to be included with the damaged part in the return delivery:
Customer complaint (to be filled out by workshop personnel)
Quick test with fault freeze frame data
Engine control unit log
"Midtronics" test log for battery test
Number of engine start (determine in Xentry Diagnostics: Diagnosis Control unit Special procedures Starter Number of engine starts)
Reading out the engine start is available as of Xentry Diagnostics Version 11/2012 and add-on 2625 for vehicles with engine 651 CDID3 (as of production 03/2012) and for vehicles with MED17.7 (as of production startup). Additional engine control units will be incorporated during the course of 2013.
As from the Xentry Diagnostics version 01/2013 the add-on 2625 is no longer required.
