A new starter is available for the above-mentioned models.

When installing the new starter A 651 906 31 00, the following parts must be replaced:

 A 651 096 28 40 Strut (for 2stage turbocharger only)

 A 204 490 11 40 Bracket

 A 651 150 01 75 Shield

 Installation: Do not route the electrical line circuit 50 (picture a) in front of the starter.
Otherwise, the electrical line circuit 50 (picture a) may wear through on the heat shield.

 Route the electrical line circuit 50 (picture b) between the starter and the crankcase.
The connection of the circuit 50 line on the starter must face towards the crankcase (see AR15.30P7100CD, Remove/install starter).
