Since approx. March 2011 the production single-cylinder compressors are installed with modified cylinder head (1).
The cylinder head (1) is made of stainless steel and is now equipped with two bolts (2) instead of one, which connects the valve plate and the cylinder head cover.
Only the modified cylinder heads (1) will be issued by the GLC for replacement parts. These are backward compatible and they can be mounted to existing compressor cylinder crankcases.
The material change has caused the assembly notes to be altered along with the tightening torques for the threaded connections. The repair instructions have been revised accordingly.
