Retrofits/modifications on truck model series 963, 964, 967 and 956 have an effect for many of the sales codes on the electronic networking of the vehicle and the parameterization of the electronic control units/modules. Therefore, for product liability reasons, modifications/retrofits must undergo a complete check to ensure that they perform correctly in the vehicle.
Individual check and approval through XSF query (XENTRY Support & Feedback)
Before conducting a modification/retrofit, always submit an individual check and approval using an XSF request (XENTRY Support & Feedback) to the technical consultancy of part-specific workshop support for commercial vehicles. Exceptions hereto are already approved and published retrofits.
The response in the XSF ticket shall in future contain information on parameter data and chargeable sales codes:
1. If no parameter data for the requested sales code are affected and the sales code is not chargeable, you will receive, if approved, only the conversion scopes for the removal and installation components.
2. If no parameter data for the requested sales code are affected but the sales code is chargeable, you will receive, if approved, the conversion scopes for the removal and installation components and also a part number for ordering the chargeable code change. You can then make the calculation for the conversion/retrofit and discuss it with the customer. When ordering the code change with part number A 000 827 85 59, make sure that the vehicle identification number for the vehicle in question is entered into the VIN field. The ticket number of the ticket – with which you received the bill of materials and the part number – is to be entered in the additional details field.
3. If parameter data for the requested sales code are affected, you will receive, if approved, the conversion scopes for the removal and installation components and also a part number for ordering the parameter data. You can then make the calculation for the conversion/retrofit and discuss it with the customer. When ordering the parameter CD with the part number A 000 827 75 59, make sure that the vehicle identification number for the vehicle in question is entered into the VIN field. The ticket number of the ticket – with which you received the bill of materials and the part number – is to be entered in the additional details field.
