A new number series has been defined for the working hours of diagnosis jobs. With immediate effect, therefore, these diagnostic operations on systems with control units and fault codes are valid under operation texts, standard texts, flat rates and work units (standard times and flat rates).
On model 901, 902, 903, 904, 905 and 906, these operation numbers are valid as of WIS version 07/07.
The operation items are grouped together in the respective design groups with the number range XX-0640 to XX-0999 (see the table below) and are thus always assigned to the system to be diagnosed.
Generally, the operation item "54-1011 Perform quick test" must be used when starting diagnosis. After the quick test, the system tests are listed for each design group.
If it is necessary to perform another quick test during the course of the repair order, then this must be invoiced via the operation item "Diagnosis" or the operation item "Testing work".
The diagnosis structure following on the quick test depends on whether a fault code has been stored for the customer complaint. The fault code shall be considered as part of the order preparation.
The following application rule always applies to the necessary test operations:
1 Use of operation item with ending "0" (e.g. XX-0640, XX-0660, XX-0700, ...) if:
no fault code is stored but a reproducible customer complaint is present and further test operations are necessary.
2 Use of operation item with ending "1" (e.g. XX-0641, XX-0661, XX-0701, ...) if:
a fault code has been stored.
3 Common use of the operation items (e.g. XX-6640 and XX-0641) is only permissible in justified cases. The justification for common use must be entered in the message field, otherwise the operation items may be rejected.
Operation item
"54-0991 Program and code control unit: .................... (after quick test)" (model 414, 415, 447, 448, 636, 638, 639)
or
"54-0991 Program and parameterize control unit .................... (after quick test)" (model 900, 901, 902, 903, 904, 905, 906, 909)
is a generally applicable operation item irrespective of the programming duration. It includes the "Coding" and "Programming" of several control units, if this is conducted as part of a sequence, in other words, the procedure need only be started once.
With the engine topics, the following assembly part tests are defined under operation item 07-0641 "Check assembly parts of engine ............... as per fault code":
Check coolant temperature sensor
Check intake air temperature sensor
Check hot film MAF sensor
Check charge air temperature sensor
Check intake port shutoff
Check leakage quantity of injectors
Check knock control
Check ignition coils (secondary side)
Check oil sensor
Check intake manifold pressure sensor
Individual tests which are not taken into account in these average values are applied as individual operation items with working hours or time prescribed by foreperson, such as:
Check fuel low pressure circuit
Check throttle valve actuator
Check charging system for leaks
Exposure work is not included here and must be listed separately (see the included work text for the operation items).
The following operation items and operation texts have been created for processing complaints in the area of telematics:
82-0702 Check radio/TV
82-0703 Check screen
82-0704 Check CD drive, CD changer and CC drive
82-0705 Check navigation system
82-0706 Check telephone/cell phone
82-0707 Check fiber optic cable and wake-up signal
82-0708 Check antennae
The operation items listed replace the operation item 82-0700 "Check communications systems and information systems (after quick test)".
Telematics diagnosis work which is not listed above should be carried out under the operation items 82-0700 and 82-0701.
In all other design groups, the structure and procedures for the diagnosis work on control units with fault codes is shown in the same way.
The operation item
54-1010 "Check electrical system, findings:.................."
or
82-1015 "Check electrical system, findings:.................."
is available for diagnosis work if no special diagnostic operation item is present within the affected design group. Combination of this operation item with test items of the diagnosis structure described is not permissible.
Removal and installation operations are not affected by this. They are still contained in the current design groups.
The following operation items have been added: |
