Remove/install

Switch off ignition

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove dashboard

Remove heater housing

Unscrew bolts (1) at cover of heater blower preresistor (2)

Disconnect upper section of heater housing from lower section of heater housing

 Remove the heat exchanger from the heater housing: Continue only until Step 7.

Unscrew bolts of heater blower preresistor (3)

Unplug connectors (5) and remove preresistor for heater blower (4)

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check coolant level

 Check coolant level and adjust to correct level only if coolant temperature is below 50 °C.
The cooling system is correctly filled if coolant is visible in the filler neck.
 Before adjusting coolant to correct level, inspect anticorrosion/antifreeze protection.
Drain coolant at drain valve of radiator, if necessary, for this purpose.
