The battery must be disconnected for the tests.
Otherwise the battery may be damaged.
All test steps and entries must be conducted painstakingly.
Otherwise the test result may be incorrect.
If the message "Surface voltage" is displayed during the test, the battery tester has detected that the battery voltage is apparently too high. This increased battery voltage can be reduced as follows:
Battery installed: Reduce the increased voltage as per battery tester specifications (e.g. switch on driving lights).
Battery removed: Reduce the increased battery voltage as per the description "Reduce increased battery voltage after charging process".
Check
1 | Connect battery tester to battery. |
Do not connect battery tester to jump start or charging terminal point, always connect it directly with the battery. |
2 | Perform batteries as per operator's manual for battery tester. |
The test standard (e.g.: EN, DIN, SAE, IEC, JIS, CCA) is printed on behind the specification of the cold cranking amps. |
3 | Carry out further measures depending on test result, if necessary. |
4 | Print out result code and file in a tamperproof manner. |
5 | Disconnect battery tester. |
