Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

1

Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

Remove respective ball head.

Mark installation position of jam nut (1).

Remove counternut (1).

 Installation: Replace counternut (1) and mount at marked position.

Remove respective cross strut (2).

 Screw, cross strut to front axle carrier/integral carrier

Remove outer clamp (3).

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove inner clamp (4).

 Installation: Replace inner clamp (4).

Remove boot (5).

 Installation: Check boot (5) is correctly seated.



Check

Check boot (5) for damage.

If damage is visible,



replace boot (5).

Check outer clamp (3) for damage.

If damage is visible,



replace outer clamp (3).

Install in the reverse order.
