Engine control/permanent brake operating lever on position "0" and switch off ignition

 Danger!

Risk of injury due to touching the hot retarder surface or being scalded with hot retarder surface oil. Risk of injury to skin or eyes due to retarder oil spraying out under high pressure

Do not carry out any work unless retarder is switched off. Wear suitable protective clothing and safety glasses when working on the hot retarder surface

Drain oil from retarder

 Drain oil when hot (hotter than 60 °C)



Retarder - checking, correcting oil level

Unscrew lower oil reservoir cover (1) from oil reservoir (3) and remove

 Installation: Replace gasket (2).

Tighten lower oil reservoir cover (1) as per the specification.
