Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
Warning | Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing the TIREFIT emulsion. Risk of injury caused by skin contact and eye contact with the TIREFIT emulsion. Risk of fire caused by ignition of the TIREFIT emulsion | Do not swallow or come into contact with the TIREFIT tire sealant, which is an emulsion of rubber and terpene phenolic resin. No open flames or open light sources.
Topical note | General information on handling vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or lithium-ion battery and/or gaseous-fuel drive system
TIREFIT tire sealant | |||
1 | Remove wheel | ||
2 | Put down wheel upright with valve at bottom | Leave wheel standing for approx. 10 min.
3 | Unscrew valve element from valve and release pressure from tire
4 | Pull valve out of the disk wheel | Only when using a tire sealant container (1).
5 | Push valve debris remaining in valve bore of disk wheel into inside of disk wheel | Only when using a tire sealant container (1).
6 | Replace original hose on tire sealant container (1) with a 400 mm long hose (2) | Only when using a tire sealant container (1).
7 | Attach hose (2) to tire sealant container (1) | Only when using a tire sealant container (1).
8 | Squeeze tire sealant container (1) and immerse hose (2) as deep as possible in the TIREFIT tire sealant (3) through the valve bore in the disk wheel | Only when using a tire sealant container (1).
To enable the TIREFIT tire sealant (3) to drain off, hold the tire sealant container (1) approx. 200 mm lower (H) than the contact area of the wheel.
9 | Reduce pressure on tire sealant container (1) | Only when using a tire sealant container (1).
The TIREFIT tire sealant (3) is extracted. If this method is used, approx. 90 % of the TIREFIT tire sealant (3) can be extracted.
10 | Drill through tire tread using a twist drill bit (Ø 10 mm) and allow TIREFIT tire sealant (3) to flow into a suitable container | If tire sealant container (1) is not used.
11 | Detach tires | ||
12 | Remove remaining TIREFIT tire sealant (3) from rim using a damp cloth
13 | Attach new tire | ||
14 | Place new tire repair kit TIREFIT (3) in the vehicle |
