Fasten the  dial indicator holder (1) with the  dial indicator (2) and the  prolongation (3) on the bell hub

Place the  dial indicator (2) with approximately 1 mm of preload on the stop washer of the sun gear and set the measuring scale of the comparator to zero

Move the axle shaft from side to side with the  adapter (4) and the  device (5), thus checking the end play
