1 | Detach wheel from front axle | ||
2 | Detach brake drum from front axle | ||
3 | Detach wheel hub cover (6) | ||
4 | Unlock and unscrew axle nut (5) | ||
5 | Remove locking washer (4) and perforated disk (3) | ||
Adjust | |||
6 | Loosen axle nut (2) and after this tighten while turning the wheel hub (1) continuously (initial torque) | | |
7 | Loosen axle nut (2) one complete revolution | ||
8 | Tighten axle nut (2) whilst continuously turning the wheel hub (1) (final torque) and after this loosen again by one 2/8 to 3/8 revolution | ||

9 | Inspect wheel bearing play | ||

| Install | ||
10 | Attach perforated disk (3) to axle nut (2) | The locking pin (arrow) must engage in a hole of the perforated disk (3) free of tension, if necessary turn perforated disk. | |
If after turning the perforated disk (3) no alignment of the locking pin (arrow) with a hole is achieved: | |||
Turn axle nut (2) until the locking pin (arrow) engages in a hole. | |||
For loosening always select the position of the perforated disk (3) which requires the least release travel. The axle nut (2) may always only be released for aligning with the perforated disk. | |||
11 | Attach locking washer (4) to perforated disk (3) | Use new locking washer. The locking pin of the locking washer must engage in the perforated disk. | |
12 | Tighten axle nut (5) and secure with locking washer (4) | | |
13 | Remove remains of seal on hub cap cover (6) and on wheel hub (1) | ||
14 | Coat sealing surface of wheel hub cover (6) with sealant | ||
15 | Attach wheel hub cover (6) with bolts (8) and shims (7) | ||
16 | Tighten bolts (8) evenly in a crosswise pattern | ||
17 | Install brake drum on front axle | ||
18 | Install wheel on front axle |
