1 | Remove wheels from front axle (3) | ||
After jacking up, leave the lifting device positioned at the front axle. | |||
2 | Remove cap (7) and remove ball head of drag link (3) from steering arm on steering knuckle | Installation: Install new nut (6). | |
The ball head of the drag link (3) detaches suddenly. | |||
Nut, drag link to steering idler arm/pitman arm | |||
3 | Remove left and right anti-lock braking system (ABS) rpm sensor | ||
4 | Disconnect electrical connectors from brake wear sensors (1) | | |
5 | Detach connection for compressed-air lines (4) from brake cylinders | ||
6 | Support front axle (8) with lifting device and secure against tilting | ||
7 | Remove bolts (11) from both stabilizer link (10) mounts | Counterhold nuts (5) while doing so. | |
Stabilizer link and bearing bracket to front axle | |||
8 | Swivel stabilizer link (10) downwards and remove both bearing brackets (12) | ||
9 | Detach both air bellows supports (2) from front axle | Installation: Install new screws (9). | |
Air suspension bellows carrier to front axle | |||
10 | Lower front axle (8) and pull out from under vehicle | ||
11 | Install in the reverse order |
