Danger ! | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
Danger ! | Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension. | Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
| Remove | ||
1 | Lower the vehicle onto the stop buffer with the operating unit
2 | Fully drain compressed air system
3 | Separate electrical connection (3) from left drive axle position sensor (B24) or from right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27) | To do this, remove cable tie from left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27).
4 | Remove bolts (5) and remove operating lever (6)
5 | Loosen screw/bolts (7) | Only if left drive axle position sensor (B24) and right drive axle position sensor (B25) are mounted together on one bracket.
6 | Remove screws/bolts (1) and remove left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27) from the bracket
| Install | ||
7 | Mount left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27) to bracket and tighten bolts (1) | Position sensor on bracket
8 | Tighten screw/bolts (7) | Only if left drive axle position sensor (B24) and right drive axle position sensor (B25) are mounted together on one bracket.
9 | Connect electrical connection (3) | Fix electrical line in place using a new cable tie.
10 | Align check bore (4) so that it coincides with one of the two aligning bores (2) on the left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27)
11 | Connect diagnostic system, start XENTRY and perform quick test | Compile as-found protocol. If a fault is stored eliminate the corresponding cause and erase fault code.
12 | Select vehicle level actual value group in the diagnostic system
13 | Turn lever mount on left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27) in the direction "Lift vehicle frame" and observe the corresponding actual value | The actual value must rise.
If the actual value drops:
| |||
Turn the lever mount on left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27) by 180°.
14 | Mount operating lever (6) to left drive axle position sensor (B24) or right drive axle position sensor (B25) or front axle position sensor (B27) and tighten bolts (5) | Operating lever on position sensor
15 | Start engine and completely inflate air brake system with idle speed
16 | Turn off engine | ||
17 | Calibrate driving level |
