Remove left or right front wheel



Unscrew nut (1a) and remove torsion bar linkage (1) from suspension strut (40)

 Counterhold ball stud using internal TORX.

 Nut, link rod to suspension strut

Unclip electrical line of right front brake wear sensor from right line bracket (3)

When removing the right suspension strut (40).

Remove cable tie (2) from suspension strut (40)

 Installation: Observe installation position and replace cable tie (2).

Secure steering knuckle (6) to prevent it from tilting away


The brake hose and electrical lines may not be pulled.
Otherwise, the brake hose and the electrical lines may be damaged.

Unscrew nut (7) and pull out bolt (8)

 Installation: Replace bolt (8).
Tighten bolt (8) and nut (7) only after installation of supporting strut (11).

Remove cover (4) from suspension strut (40)

Remove bolts (9) from suspension strut tower

Remove suspension strut (40)

Take off cover (10)

If installed.

 If a cover (10) is not fitted, then one must be retrofitted.
The cover (10) is mounted to the upper spring cup.



Check

Check suspension strut (40) for damage

If damage is present:



Replace suspension strut (40).

Install in the reverse order

Perform wheel alignment check
