 	Remove/install
 Danger!	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Detach propeller shaft (1) from transfer case (4)	 Tie propeller shaft (1) to underfloor.	AR41.10-S-0070S
2	Detach propeller shaft (3) from transfer case (4)	 Tie propeller shaft (3) to underfloor.	AR41.10-S-0050S
3	Remove engine supports (6)	Engine 646	AR22.10-S-4410S
		Engine 651	AR22.10-S-1170S
4	Unclip shift rod (8)	Only with transmission 716.6
5	Remove bolts of transfer case (4) on transmission	 Lower the transmission slightly in order to be able to reach all the bolts.

6	Remove transfer case (4) from vehicle.	 Use aid of helper.
		 Installation: Apply light coating of grease to gearing on transfer case (4).
		Long-life grease	*BR00.45-Z-1001-06A
7	Transfer banjo bolt of vent line	 Only with engine 646 and only when replacing transfer case (4). Install new seals.

8	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
9	Check oil level in transfer case (4) and correct if necessary
	Transfer case - oil change		AP28.00-S-2801A
