Remove/install ignition lock control cable

Remove/install

Remove transmitter key from EIS (EZS) control unit (N73)

Remove electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) and put down

Detach cable for ignition lock (2) from electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5)

 Lift catch hook and push coupling against spring force into electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5), turn through 90° to right or left and detach cable for ignition lock (2).

Unscrew rosette from EZS control unit (N73) with claw-type wrench

 Claw wrench for trim ring on ignition/starter switch

Remove EZS control unit (N73) with cable for ignition lock (2) out of instrument panel to the right

 Installation: Observe routing of cable for ignition switch (2).

Compress the locking lugs (3) and pull out the cable for the ignition lock (2) at the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)

 Do not disconnect electrical connector from EIS control module (N73).

Install in the reverse order

Carry out function check

 It is only possible to detach the transmitter key in selector lever position "P".

The selector lever can only be shifted out of selector lever position "P" when the foot brake is operated and the transmitter key is in position "2".
