1 | Put together external plates (12, 14) and internal plates (13) in the sequence shown and insert individually. |
A different number of externally toothed plates (12) and internally toothed plates (13) are fitted depending on the transmission version. Place new external and internal plates in automatic transmission fluid for 1 h before installation. The lining side of the external plates and internal plates (12, 13) must face towards the output side. |
2 | Install retaining ring (15). |
Both ends of the retaining ring (15) must be seated on a shackle of the external plate carrier K1 (1) (arrows). |

3 | Mount pressure device on external plate (14). |
4 | Press disk pack together as far as the end stop using pressure device and a workshop press. |
The marking ring (bottom arrow) must still be visible. |
5 | Using a feeler gauge, Check plate play (L) at three points between retaining ring (15) and external plate (14). |
To measure the plate play (L) the retaining ring (15) must abut with the upper contact surface of the groove. If necessary, adjust the plate play (L) by installing a retaining ring (15) of corresponding thickness. |
