Disassemble/assemble multi-disk brake B2

Removing

Remove multi-disk brake B2, disk pack B3 and park pawl gear

Disassemble

Remove snap ring (105s)

Remove disks

 Remove end disk (105), disk pack B2 (5), external plate (105a) and disk spring (5t) together.

 Check disks for scorch marks and wear.

Press disk spring (61t) together with assembly device

 Press disk spring (61t) together until retaining ring (61) is exposed.

Remove circlip (61s)

Remove assembly device

Remove spring cup (61f) and disk spring (61t)

Remove guide ring (61r) and piston (61k)

 To do this, carefully blow compressed air into bore (B) while covering bore (B) with a cloth since oil may spray out.

Remove piston guide (61b) from external plate carrier (61a)

 To do this, carefully blow compressed air into bore (A) while covering bore (A) with a cloth since oil may spray out.

 The external plate carrier (61a) also serves as the piston for the multidisk brake B3.



Assemble

Assemble piston guide (61b) and external plate carrier (61a)

 Replace the sealing rings (161a, 161b, 161i).

With sealing rings (161a, 161b), the rounded edges must face outward.

 With sealing ring (161i), the rounded edges must face inward.

Install piston (61k)

 Replace the sealing ring (161k). The rounded off edges must point inwards.

Install guide ring (61r)

 Replace the sealing ring (161r). The rounded off edges must point outwards.

Insert disk spring (61t) and spring cup (61f)

 Insert the disk spring (61t) with the curvature toward the spring cup (61f).

Press disk spring (61t) together with assembly device

 Press disk spring (61t) together until the groove for the retaining ring (61s) is exposed.

Install circlip (61s)

Remove assembly device

 Assembly device

Install disk spring (5t), external plate (105a), disk pack B2 (5) and end disk (105) together

 Insert the disk spring (5t) in such a way that the curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (61k).

 Pay attention to sequence of disks.

Install snap ring (105s)



Measure and adjust clearance
