2 | Detach selector lever Bowden cable from ball head (2.1) | ||

3 | Clean transmission housing (1) around shift shaft (2) and radial shaft sealing ring (7) | Cleaner from package | |
4 | Remove automatic transmission oil pan | ||
5 | Remove bolt (5) and remove spring element for detent plate (6) | ||
6 | Remove clamp bolt for detent plate (4) and pull shift shaft (2) out of transmission housing (1) | ||
7 | Remove radial shaft seal (7) using suitable tool | Make sure that the contact surface in the transmission housing (1) is not damaged. Leaks may occur otherwise. | |

8 | Check shift shaft (2) for galling and damage; install a new shift shaft if necessary | ||
| Install | ||
9 | Drive radial shaft sealing ring (7) all the way into transmission housing (1) using drift (01) | Drift | |
10 | Insert shift shaft (2) and tighten clamp bolt for detent plate (4) | Make sure that the shift shaft (2) is positioned correctly in the detent plate (3). | |

11 | Mount spring element for detent plate (6) and tighten bolt (5) | | |
12 | Install automatic transmission oil pan | ||
13 | Fit selector lever Bowden cable to ball head (2.1) of shift shaft (2) | Grease ball head (2.1). | |
