1 Move shift lever in vehicle to neutral position.
2 Unsnap the rubber boot (1) and lift it up.
3 On vehicles manufactured before April 03, slide the Allen bolt (2) (6x80) through the locking sockets (A, B) on the shift lever bearing bracket.
On vehicles manufactured from April 03 onward, press the clamp (C) down to lock the asembly.
Installation: Before snapping ghe rubber boot back into place, remoce the locking tool/pressure it back up.

4 Unsnap the ball and socket locks for the shift cables (3, 4) on the transmission (arrow C).

5 Lever ball sockets of shift cables (3, 4) off the ball heads.
Installation: Use a suitable pair of pliers to press the sockets onto the ball joints.
6 Unclip the Bowden cable bracket (5, 6) from the metal holder (7).
Press together the snaps on the Bowden cable bracket at the illustrated positions (arrow) when removing the bracket.
Installation: Slide the shift cable illustrated in blue at the top, and the cable illustrated in black at the bottom.
7 Install in the reverse order.
