1 | Remove countershaft brake (VGW-B). | ||
2 | Remove circlip (8) | ||
3 | Remove washer (7). | ||
4 | Remove inner plates (6) and outer plates (5). | ||
5 | Remove piston (4) from housing (1). | ||
6 | Detach sealing rings (2) and support ring (3) from piston (4). | ||

7 | Check inner plates (6) for wear. | Reference dimension of countershaft brake internal plate | |
If wear is detected, | |||

Replace internal plates (6). | |||
| Install | ||
8 | Attach new sealing rings (2) and new support ring (3) to piston (4). | Insert sealing rings (2) and support ring (3) with grease. Observe installation position (A) of sealing rings (2). | |

9 | Install piston (4) into housing (1). | ||
10 | Soak inner plates (6) in transmission oil. | Only when replacing the inner plates (6). | |
Soak inner plates (6) for 10 h in transmission oil at room temperature or for 10 min in warm transmission oil (50 °C to 70 °C). | |||
11 | Install inner plates (6) and outer plates (5). | Pay attention to the sequence of external plates (5) and internal plates (6). | |
12 | Install washer (7). | The ground side of washer (7) must point towards the internally toothed plates (6). The washer (7) is thicker than the externally toothed plates (5). | |
13 | install circlip (8). | ||
14 | Install countershaft brake (VGW-B). |
