1 Pull outer race (1) out of rear section of transmission housing (2) using internal extractor .
2 Clean sealing surface of rear section of transmission housing.
3 Measure dimension A (bearing seat contact surface to sealing surface of transmission housing) using depth gauge (refer to table).

4 Pull bearing bush (3) out of front section of transmission housing (5) using internal extractor .
5 Remove adjusting ring (4).
6 Clean sealing surface of front section of transmission housing (5).
7 Measure dimension B (bearing seat contact surface to sealing surface of transmission housing) using depth gauge.

8 Push needle bearings (6, 8) and outer bearing races (1, 3) onto countershaft (7).
D26.50-0108-11
9 Measure dimension C (distance between contact surfaces of outer bearing races) using the gauge (refer to table).
Position the gauge not on the raised inner part of the outer bearing races, but on the stepped lower edge.
When measuring the distance, an assistant should press both bearing bushes evenly onto the shaft (arrows). This ensures that both bearings are fixed onto the ends of the countershaft without play.
10 Calculate bearing play S:
S=A+B-C
11 Refer to table for specified play and determine the required adjusting ring thickness.
Adjusting rings are available in thicknesses from 2.2 mm to 2.95 mm in 0.05 mm graduations.

11 Fit adjusting ring (4) and drive outer race (3) all the way into bearing seat of front section of transmission housing (5) using a suitable drift punch.
12 Drive outer race (1) all the way into bearing seat of rear section of transmission housing (2) using a suitable drift punch.
