1 | Remove output shaft's PTO (NMV) | ||
2 | Detach split ring (3) and remove external plate carrier (4) | ||
3 | Detach split ring (12) | ||
4 | Remove output gear (6) from power take-off housing (8) | Press out from the oil pump side using a suitable tube. | |
5 | Remove tapered roller bearing (11) and shim (9) from power take-off housing (8) | ||
6 | Remove the bearing outer race (10) from the power take-off housing (8) | ||
7 | Detach tapered roller bearing (5) from output gear (6) | | |

8 | Heat up the inner race of the tapered roller bearing (5) to approx. 80 °C and mount the tapered roller bearing (5) on the output gear (6) | ||

9 | Heat up the power take-off housing (8) in the area of the bearing point of the bearing outer race (10) to approx. 80 °C and install bearing outer race (10) | ||

10 | Heat up power take-off housing (8) in the area of the bearing point of the tapered roller bearing (5) to approx. 80 °C and install output gear (6) with tapered roller bearing (5) | ||

11 | Determine shim (9) on output gear (6) | ||

12 | Remove output gear (6) with tapered roller bearing (5) again and remove tapered roller bearing (11) | Press out from the oil pump side using a suitable tube. | |

13 | Heat up power take-off housing (8) in the area of the bearing point of the tapered roller bearing (5) to approx. 80 °C and reinstall output gear (6) with tapered roller bearing (5) | ||

14 | Heat up inner race of tapered roller bearing (11) to approx. 80 °C and install tapered roller bearing (11) with shim (9) determined | ||
15 | Install split ring (12) | Install new circlip (13). | |
16 | Install external plate carrier (4) | Continue driving the split ring (3) through the side bores of the external plate carrier (4) using a drift. Install new circlip (2). |
