Removing

Remove range group shift cylinder (1)

Identify shift piston (2)

 Identification (arrow) on shift piston (2) in "12 o'clock position".

Unscrew bearing bolt on the left (4) and bearing bolt on the right (9)

 One transmission bolt must be unscrewed to remove the bearing bolt on the right (9).

Rotate shift piston (2) with piston rod (3) through 180° and pull out

Remove pilot bushing (11) using internal extractor (13) and counter stay (14)

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (10) using internal extractor (13) and counter stay (14)

Install

Install radial shaft seal (10) as far as the stop using drift (12)

 The spring ring of the radial shaft sealing ring (10) must point inwards (oil side).

Coat radial shaft sealing ring (10) using lubricant.

Install pilot bushing (11) as far as the stop using drift (12)

Install shift piston (2) with piston rod (3)

 The identification (arrow) on the shift piston (2) must be in the "12 o'clock position".

Hook the shift fork into the piston rod (3)

 Using a small screwdriver though the tapped hole of the bearing bolt on the left (4), hook in the shift fork.

Install the bearing bolt on the right (9)

 Coat thread of the bearing bolt (9) on the right with locking agent.

Install the bearing bolt on the left (4)

 Coat the thread of the bearing bolt (4) on the left with locking agent.

Tighten the transmission bolt on the bearing bolt on the right (9)


