Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
| Notes on coolant | ||
| Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts | ||
1 | Switch off ignition | ||
2 | Remove nuts for radiator mountings (15) on charge air cooler (3) from below | The radiator mountings (15) bolts remain on the charge air cooler (3).
3 | Open maintenance flap
4 | Remove trim grille | ||
5 | Remove holder (16) between charge air cooler (3) and crossmember
6 | Remove cable tie at left front on charge air cooler (3) and coolant hose (14)
7 | Remove clamps (1) on condenser (2) and charge air cooler (3) and secure condenser (2) from falling down | Only on vehicles with code (H03) Air conditioning in front end.
Do not separate refrigerant lines.
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to end position and secure with safety strut.
8.1 | Tilt cab | Vehicles with code (F30) Tilting hydraulics for the cab
| Notes on tilting the cab | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to end position and secure with safety strut.
8.2 | Tilt cab into repair position | Vehicles without code (F30) Tilting hydraulics for cab
| Notes on tilting the cab | ||
9 | Drain coolant at radiator (4) | Installation: Only tilt cab back after leak test has been conducted.
10 | Bind condenser (2) to the cab | Only on vehicles with code (H03) Air conditioning in front end.
11 | Remove charge air hose, red (5) and charge air hose, black (6) | Installation: The charge air hose red (5) is temperature-resistant and must always be installed between the charge air cooler (3) and charge air manifold.
