Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Switch off ignition

Release pressure in coolant circuit

Clamp off coolant lines (9, 10) at the line fittings (2, 3) using clamping devices

Remove coolant lines (9, 10) from line fittings (2, 3)

 Mark coolant lines (9, 10) relative to line fittings (2, 3).
Collect coolant in clean vessel.

 Installation: Pour caught coolant back into coolant circuit after installing pump module (1). Observe markings on the coolant lines (9, 10).

Disconnect electrical connections (14, 15) on pump module (1)


The disconnected electrical connections (14, 15) must not come into contact with AdBlue®.
Damage can occur in the wiring harness and the attached assembly parts otherwise.

Unfasten wiring harness (16) on bracket (13)

Remove AdBlue® suction line (11) on line fittings (4)


New pump modules (1) are filled with corrosion protection for storage. If the pump module (1) is replaced, the line fitting (4) must therefore be blown free with compressed air (about  3 s with a maximum of 6 bar). The line fitting (5) must not be blown free.
The pump module (1) will get damaged otherwise.

Remove AdBlue® feed line (12) on line fitting (5) and bind at the top

 Catch escaping AdBlue® and dispose of it.

Remove pump module (1) on bracket (8)

Install in the reverse order

Perform initial startup routine of pump module (1)

Check line separation points for leaktightness

 Visual inspection.
