3 | Remove spacer sleeve (8) | ||
4 | Take off adjustment lever (12) | ||

6 | Close and remove engine brake valve (4) | ||
7 | Knock out engine brake shaft (3) together with bearing bushing (2.1) | Use a suitable drift. | |
8 | Knock out bearing bushing (2.2) | Use a suitable drift. | |

9 | Knock bushing (2.2) on the side of bracket (6) flush with the inner attachment face in housing (1) | Use a suitable drift. Coat bearing point with paste. | |
10 | Insert engine brake shaft (3) into housing (1) and push through | Coat bearing point with paste. | |
11 | Knock bearing bushing (2.1) into housing (1) | Use a suitable drift. | |
12 | Set axial play (A) of engine brake shaft (3) | Using a suitable drift, drive in bearing bushings (2.1, 2.2) on both sides and evenly until axial play (A) is reached. The overlap of bearing bushings (2.1, 2.2) to the inside contact surface in housing (1) must be equal. | |
13 | Insert engine brake flap (4), balance and screw tight | The bolt heads (5) must point towards turbocharger when engine brake flap (4) is closed. | |
14 | Close engine brake flap (4) and check annular gap | In closed position, engine brake flap (4) must not lie radially adjacent to the housing (1), realign the engine brake flap (4) if necessary. | |
15 | Attach bracket (6) | ||
16 | Install adjustment lever (12) onto splined teeth of engine brake shaft (3) | Install adjustment lever (12) so that engine brake flap (4) is fully open in drive mode (B) and the stop on the adjustment lever (12) is adjacent to bracket (6). | |
17 | Check setting of adjustment lever (12) and position of engine brake flap (4) | In brake position (C), the stop on the adjustment lever (12) must lie adjacent to bracket (6). | |
18 | Install spacer sleeve (8) | ||
19 | Install engine brake cylinder (10) | Replace nut (9). | |
20 | Install engine brake flap connection |
