Measure fuel return quantity at the fuel tank

 Danger

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel.

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Unclip and disassemble cover (2) on fuel filler neck.

Unlock and detach fuel return line (1) from fitting of the fuel fill level sensor.

 Collect fuel which runs out in a suitable container.

Insert transparent fuel line (3), as shown, into connector of fuel return line (1). Guide the other end of transparent fuel line (3) into a suitable measuring container (4).

 The measuring container (4) must have a capacity of at least 6 l and be calibrated.

Start the engine and allow to run, catch fuel with the measuring container (4).

 Switch off the engine at idle speed after 1 min or at maximum governed rpm after 30 s.
Slight gas cavities in the returning fuel is normal.

Read off the fuel quantity on the scale on the measuring container (4).  .

Remove transparent fuel line (3).

Attach fuel return line (1) to the fitting of the fuel fill level sensor with a new sealing ring.

Attach cover (2) on filler neck.
