Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove clutch

Fix flywheel (1) in place

 To do this, attach  retaining lock (11) as shown and fasten with a suitable screw (12).
 The retaining lock (11) fixes the flywheel (1) in place via the ring gear (10).

Remove flywheel (1)


Do not use air-powered tools to remove and screw in screws (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
Otherwise, the thread in the crankshaft (8) may be damaged.


Do not disassemble flywheel (1).
Otherwise, the flywheel (1) may be damaged.

 Removal: Mark flywheel (1) relative to the crankshaft (8).
Remove screws (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) in the numerical sequence.

 Installation: Observe marking.
Replace screws (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
Oil thread of the screws.
Tighten screws (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) in the numerical sequence.

 Bolt, flywheel to crankshaft

Check

Check flywheel (1) for wear and damage

Depending on findings



replace flywheel (1).

Check ring gear (10) of the flywheel (1) for damage

Depending on findings



replace flywheel (1).

Check starter drive pinion for damage

Depending on findings



Replace starter.

Remove/install starter

Check guide bearing (9) of the crankshaft (8)

Depending on findings



replace guide bearing (9) of the crankshaft (8) with a suitable internal extractor.

Check radial shaft sealing ring for leaktightness

Depending on findings



Replace radial shaft sealing ring.

Replace rear radial shaft sealing ring
