Using pliers (5), remove the rings from the piston (4), following the order (1), (2) and (3)
Adjust the pliers (5) through the screw, limiting the opening of the rings at a slightly larger diameter than the outside diameter of the piston.
Installation: Before and after installing the rings, review them carefully. Replace the rings showing lateral wear, cracks and/or detachment of the material on the surface layer. Note the mounting position of the rings, the 'TOP' mark should be facing to the top of the piston.
Check the pistons for damage and/or wear on the channels of the rings. In the case they are to be reused, remove carefully the coal residues that are in the grooves and in the upper part of the piston
Replace any piston that shows damage and/or wear on the channels of the rings.

Measure the gap between the ring edges (1/2)
Insert and fit perfectly the ring, in the worn part of the cylinder (above the reversion point of the 1st ring movement).
Universal blades gauge from 0.05 to 1 mm

Remove tubular spring (3.1) from scraper ring (3). Insert and fit perfectly the ring, in the worn part of the cylinder (above the reversion point of the 1st ring movement).
Universal blades gauge from 0.05 to 1 mm
Installation: Install tubular spring (3.1) onto scraper ring (3). Position the opening (tips) of the tubular spring (3.1) displaced 180º from the opening (tips) of the scraper ring (3).
