3 | Remove oil pan screws from end cover (1) | Bolt, oil pan to cylinder crankcase | |

4 | Remove screws from end cover (1) | Screw/bolt, end cover | |

5 | Remove end cover (1) | Carefully pry off end cover (1) at both marked points with an angled screwdriver (arrows). Collect engine oil which flows out. | |
Installation: When pressing on the end cover (1), pay attention to the fitting sleeves (2). | |||
6 | Install new rear crankshaft radial sealing ring (3) | ||
Notes on application of sealant to end cover with radial shaft seal | |||
Installation: Remove oil residues and grease residues on the circumference and on the sealing lip of the rear crankshaft radial sealing ring (3) and the mating surface on the crankshaft. | |||

8 | Check engine oil level; fill with engine oil if necessary | ||

9 | Perform engine test run; check engine for leak tightness | Carry out a visual inspection only. |
