	Read out navigation system
1	Read out map version using COMAND.	 Read out map version in COMAND as follows: Switch on COMAND  Select menu item "Menu"  Select "Settings" menu item  Select "Extended" menu item  Select menu item "Map version".
	Check
2	Note the map version displayed on the service sheet and compare with the map version currently available.	If the map status is up-to-date.
		
		testing is complete; no further work steps are necessary.
		If the map data status is not up-to-date,
		
		Continue with operation step 3.
3	Check whether the customer is entitled to a free-of-charge map update.	Initial registration was a maximum of 3 years ago. Only for certain markets (see Service Information bulletin).
		If the customer is entitled to a map update free of charge.
		
		Update map data free of charge (For cost settlement, see service information).

		If the customer is not entitled to a map update free of charge.
		
		clarify with the customer whether a chargeable map update should be performed. continue with operation step 4.
4	Check whether the customer wants a chargeable map update.	If the customer does not want a chargeable map update,
		
		testing is complete; no further work steps are necessary.
		If the customer wants a chargeable map update,
		
		Perform map update.
