Risk of explosion due to escaping combustible gas or overheating of gas cylinders.Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes. Risk of frostbite to body parts caused by escaping gas and by touching components near the valves when emptying gas cylinders. Risk of poisoning or suffocation caused by inhaling gas.

Remove any sources of ignition.
Protective clothing, safety gloves and safety glasses must always be worn.
Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated.
When working on vehicles at ambient temperatures over 60 °C, all gas cylinders must be removed.

Remove

Remove gas cylinder from transmission tunnel (5).

If the expiration date for the gas cylinder (13) on the gas cylinder model plate (14) is reached, exceeded or if it is reached or exceeded during the next service interval or if the gas cylinder in the transmission tunnel (5) is damaged so that a replacement is necessary.



Remove gas cylinder above the rear axle (6).

If the expiration date for the gas cylinder (13) on the gas cylinder model plate (14) is reached, exceeded or if it is reached or exceeded during the next service interval or if the gas cylinder above the rear axle (6) is damaged so that a replacement is necessary.



Install

Install new gas cylinder into transmission tunnel (5).



 Note down the expiration date of the gas cylinder (13) and the serial number on the gas cylinder model plate (14) of the gas cylinder in the transmission tunnel (5).

Install the new gas cylinder above the rear axle (6).



 Note down the expiration date of the gas cylinder (13) and the serial number on the gas cylinder model plate (14) of the gas cylinder above the rear axle (6).

Document

Document the expiration date of the currently oldest gas cylinder with the new test badge in the "Date of removal from service of containers" (1) field in the fuel filler flap.

Document the serial numbers of the gas cylinder model plate (14) of the new gas cylinder in the transmission tunnel (5) and/or the new gas cylinder above the rear axle (6) in VEDOC.


