Draining at front-axle housing

Check adjusted oil quality in maintenance system and adjust the oil quality of the transmission oil to be poured in, if necessary.

Activate workshop mode of electric parking brake.



Secure vehicle to prevent it moving away.

Clean area around the filler screw (1) and drain screw (2).

Remove filling screw (1) and drain screw (2) on front-axle housing and completely drain transmission oil.

 Only drain transmission oil when warm.
Place a suitable receptacle underneath.

Screw drain screw (2) into front-axle housing.

Pour in transmission oil until it reaches the lower edge of the front-axle housing filler opening.

Screw filling screw (1) into front-axle housing.

Draining at planetary hub reduction drive

Only raise front axle until the wheels can turn freely.

Turn wheels until drain screws (4) of planetary hub reduction drive are at the bottom.

Clean area around filling screws (3) and drain screws (4).

Remove filling screw (3) and drain screw (4) on both planetary hub reduction drives and completely drain transmission oil.

 Only drain transmission oil when warm.
Place suitable receptacle underneath.
Do not allow the transmission oil from the planetary hub reduction drive to run over the tires. Use drainage channels.

Turn wheels until the drain openings of the planetary hub reduction drive are at the top.

Mount filler container to filler opening of planetary hub reduction drive and add the specified quantity of transmission oil.

Remove filler container and check oil level.

 The oil level must be at the bottom edge of filler opening.

Screw in filling screw (3) and drain screw (4).

Repeat operation steps 14 to 16 on opposite planetary hub reduction drive.

Drain front axle.

Confirm oil change in maintenance system.
