Remove

Remove center underfloor paneling.



Check

Check whether additional oil filter (8) is installed.

Transmission 725.0 in model 292 with engine 276.8
Transmission 725.0 in model 292 with engine 642

If additional oil filter (8) and feed line (7) were removed,



No further check necessary, continue with operation step 3.

If additional oil filter (8) and feed line (7) are still installed,



Remove additional oil filter (8) and feed line (7).

Remove

Remove stop plug (4e).

Remove stop plug (4k).

If the torque converter cannot be turned via the drain opening of the stop plug (4e).

Turn torque converter in direction of engine rotation until drain screw (5) appears in drain opening of stop plug (4e).

 Commercially available devices/tools.
Flat tip screwdriver.
Depending on accessibility and version of the slot screwdriver.
Slot blade approx. 1.2 x 6.5 mm.
or
Slot blade approx. 1.2 x 8 mm.

Drain off

Remove drain screw (5) and drain transmission oil from torque converter.


Dispose of old drain screw (5) and do not reuse it.
Otherwise, this may lead to fluid loss and consequential damage.

Remove

Remove automatic transmission oil pan with automatic transmission oil filters.



Dispose of the old automatic transmission oil pan with the automatic transmission oil filters and do not use again.
Otherwise, this may lead to fluid loss and consequential damage.



Install

Install new automatic transmission oil pan with automatic transmission oil filters.



Tighten new drain screw (5).

Clean

Clean torque converter and transmission bell housing in area of drain opening.



Install

Install stop plug (4e).

Install stop plug (4k).

If stop plug (4k) was removed beforehand.

Install new rear oil line between transmission and thermostat.

Install bracket (9).

Filling

Fill automatic transmission with oil.


