Notes for evaluating sealing ring wear on cylinder liner

Check cleaned sealing ring all the way around and on both sides for discoloration. A Sealing ring has bright shiny appearance, no coolant leaks, sealing ring okay. Cylinder liner seat in crankcase is OK. B Sealing ring has dark discoloration at edge and narrow glossy, bright stripes. The cylinder liner seat of the cylinder liner was just about to leak coolant. If necessary, measure the cylinder liner seat in the crankcase. C Sealing ring has continuous dark discoloration. The cylinder liner seat of the cylinder liner had a coolant leak. If necessary, measure the cylinder liner seat in the crankcase.
