Fault setting conditions

With engaged torque converter lockup clutch (KÜB), the friction coefficient is calculated by rotational speed comparisons. If this is outside the tolerance a number of times, a fault is detected.

Faults are detected by the ETC control module and sent via the CAN data bus to the ME-SFI control module. The faults are stored and the malfunction indicator lamp is activated by the ME-SFI control module. Also read out ETC diagnostic trouble code memory, fault code 53.
