Put together external plates (2, 3, 5) and internal plates (4) in the sequence shown and insert individually.

Place new external and internal plates in automatic transmission fluid for 1 h before installation.

Install retaining ring (1).


Both ends of retaining ring (1) must be seated on a lug of the piston B3 (15) (arrows).

Mount pressure device on external plate (2).

Press disk pack together as far as the end stop using pressure device and a workshop press.


The marking ring (bottom arrow) must still be visible.

Using a feeler gauge, Check plate play (L) at three points between retaining ring (1) and external plate (2).


To measure the toothed plate play (L) the circlip (1) must abut with the upper contact surface of the groove.
If necessary, adjust the plate play (L) by installing a retaining ring (1) of corresponding thickness.
