Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1)

Checking

Check flange on the crankshaft (2) for galling of the radial shaft sealing ring (1)

If galling is found on the flange:

Replace crankshaft (2).

Start engine and run it at varying speeds

Switch off engine and check around radial shaft sealing ring (1) for leaktightness

Visual inspection.
