Control units version, programmed gas injection and ignition system (pressurized engine control)

The version of the control unit must be re-programed in the following cases:

 after renewal of the control unit or test installation of a control unit from another vehicle

 after renewal of the throttle valve positioning motor

 after disconnection and reconnection of the battery

 after detaching the control coupling "1" on the vehicle side

Programming takes place using the HHT. After selecting menu item 5 "Control unit - programming", the sequencing as well as the current condition of the program are indicated in the HHT. A check must be made after every new programming whether the vehicle version has been correctly recognized and is stored in the control unit. This occurs on the basis of the fields underlined in black.

The HHT will make an announcement when beginning its communication with the control unit if the control unit does not recognize the vehicle version:

Transmission version not recognized, drive position cannot be indicated

Remedy:

Crank the engine and a V signal > 10 km/hour

It is important to ensure that the programming was undertaken in an orderly fashion.
