As part of ongoing technical developments the cassette-type sealing ring (3.2) has been replaced by cassette-type sealing ring (3.1) to optimize the sealing.
When installing a new cassette-type sealing ring (3.1) a shim (2) must also be installed into the steering knuckle (1).
If the shim (2) is unavailable, the sealing ring (4) must be installed instead. Additionally, the cavity (5) must be packed with long-life grease when the sealing ring (4) is installed.
The cassette-type sealing ring (3.2) installed until the technical modification is implemented must never be installed with the shim (2).
Leakage and/or damage can otherwise occur at the steering knuckle.
To prevent any mix up with the cassette-type sealing ring (3.1, 3.2), the dimensions (C or D) or external features (arrows) must be observed.
