 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Drain off coolant.

Remove the alternator

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

Remove electric line (3) from coolant pump (1).

 Installation: Check retaining clips

Depending on the findings,



Replace retaining clip.

Release clamp (5) and slide back onto hose (4).

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove hoses (6, 7, 8) from coolant pump (1).

 Collect coolant which flows out.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Collecting pan

 Installation: Check hoses (6, 7, 8) for damage.

 Hose clamp pliers

Depending on the findings,



Replace damaged hose (6, 7, 8).

Remove hose (9) from coolant pump (1).

 Installation: Check hose (9) for damage.

Replace hose (9).

Remove hose (10) from coolant pump (1).

 Installation: Check hose (10) for damage.

Replace hose (10).

Remove screws (11).

 Bolt, coolant pump to crankcase

Remove coolant pump (1).

 To do so, pull coolant pump (1) off hose (4). Collect coolant which flows out.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Collecting pan

 Installation: Ensure that hose (4) is seated correctly. Check hose (4) for damage.

Depending on the findings,



Replace hose (4).

Modify coolant thermostat.

If a new coolant pump (1) is installed.
